Why Tourdom Exists

Built from the road

Touring van and trailer arriving in a city at night
The road behind the music

The gig starts before the show.

Every day, musicians arrive in a city they may barely know.

Sometimes the job starts hundreds of miles away.

Before anyone hears the first note, there may already have been a long drive, weather, traffic, fuel stops, parking, equipment, loading, and the simple job of getting everyone and everything to the next venue.

Then comes the room, the crew, the load in, the stage, and everything that has to happen before the music does.

The part most people never see

The hours on stage are only one part of the work.

Touring musicians collect practical knowledge everywhere they go: where to park, how difficult the load in is, what the room sounds like, who treats people well, and who might be able to help in the next city.

Tourdom gives that knowledge somewhere to live.
Built for musicians in motion

Useful knowledge should keep moving.

Tourdom brings professional identity, touring history, relationships, local Scenes, venue experience, and road knowledge together in one place. Musicians and music industry professionals can build connections across cities, find people where they are headed, and share practical venue and travel intelligence that can make the next stop easier.

Built from experience

The road shaped the idea. Experience helped make it real.

Tourdom grew from decades of performing, recording, and touring. Firsthand road experience shaped what Tourdom should do, while a professional background in development operations, systems administration, and business analysis helped shape how it was built.

Tourdom is live and working. Its founding network has intentionally remained small while the platform has been refined through real use. The foundation is in place. The next chapter is growing the community without losing what made Tourdom worth building.

Musicians First. Industry Welcome. Trust Travels.

Keeping Tourdom rolling

Help Tourdom grow.

Working musicians already carry enough of the cost of making live music possible.

Tourdom offers optional paid membership and ways to contribute, but its future should not depend on putting useful road knowledge behind another monthly bill or turning member attention into a product.

Tourdom has been independently funded and developed from the beginning. Growing it responsibly while keeping core access broadly available will eventually require more than one person can reasonably carry.
